Pie Class with Amelia McKay

  • When to blind bake and other baking tips
  • Apple tips to prevent browning
  • The best apple pies

Please bring a rolling pin. Bonus if you have a pie mat to roll your dough on and an apple peeler/slicer. Everything else will be supplied. You’ll get to enjoy a fresh baked slice and take a pie home to bake at your convenience.

Amelia McKay, owner of Grape Fruit and Thyme will be sharing her expertise. Learn to cover a cake two ways, panel method and drape method, marbling techniques, sharp edges, tips to prevent tearing and bubbling. Learn proper doweling and supports for cakes and how to stack multi-tiers. Hands on experience with a dummy tier to take home.
